5 Of My Favorite Zaadz Blogs

Posted on Aug 1st, 2007 by dave : Good Vibes dave
We have so many exceptional bloggers here at Zaadz, I think it is easy to overlook them.  I wanted to shine the spotlight on a few bloggers who I have found exceptionally fun to follow.  I would like to put together more list like this in the future-- but will start with a short list of 5.  These are by no means 'ranked'. :)

Jon : Billionaire

Jon Bischke is doing more for the world than you probably know right now.  Founder and CEO of LearnOutLoud.com and Education Revolution, Jon is a socially responsible entrepreneur who is changing the world in more ways than one.  Jon is a true connector, and his blogs are both inspiring and informative.  Check him out, so you can be one of the many who can say, "I knew him when...".

Sunfellow : Zaadzster

David Sunfellow is the type of guy you would love to sit with in front of a campfire and talk for hours about human potential.  He has an eye for fascinating articles about human growth and potential-- with a particularly down to earth viewpoint on it all.  David is founder of New Heaven New Earth and has been very active in helping the Zaadz community grow.

Lori : Simply Being

This is Lori Painter's first adventure to the online realm.  Lori is the type of person who makes you want to live to your highest potential just by talking with her.  She is full of life, and it certainly rubs off easy.  Please give her a warm Zaadz welcome!  Lori is a professional "Life Stylist" (A life coach of sorts-- of the best kind).  She focuses on bringing out your highest self, and transforms your outer world based on the genius you have inside.

Trikaya : Yogini Luv Infuser CEO Trikaya Yoga

Kris Ward is founder and CEO of Trikaya Yoga.  One of the coolest forms of Yoga I have ever seen.  Her blog describes the philosophy behind the yoga.  Truly life changing stuff.

From her profile: The word TRIKAYA is Sanskrit for three bodies or forms; in Buddhism it refers to the three levels of enlightenment, manifestation or activity.  It is the very root of every triad or trinity and the true key to every three-fold metaphysical symbol; body, mind, and spirit; subconscious, conscious, and super conscious; creation, destruction, re-creation; work, rest, and play… you get the idea.

April : Life Designer

Maybe I am a little bit biased here, as I am married to this one.  But April Howson's blog is full of web 2.0 green goodness, from design companies to quirky and fun links that will have you wide eyed and smiling for hours.  April is Founder of TreelightDesign.com-- a socially responsible web design company.

Have an idea?

Posted on Aug 4th, 2007 by dave : Good Vibes dave
Behold-

http://www.zaadz.com/lists/ideas

The ideas section is back!  I just noticed it went back up today-- I have been really excited about its return.  I can't think of a cooler way to make your voice heard.

If you see an idea that you want to add your vote to, just click it, and then scroll down a bit and click the button to add it to your ideas.  This way, not only will you meet others who have the same brilliant mind you do-  but the text will get bigger and bigger-- until we can't possibly ignore it any longer! ;)

Seriously tho-  we want to get to all the ideas, not just the font 72 ones.  And if you could take a moment to let us know what would make you excited to stick around-- we'd soooo appreciate it. :)

New to Zaadz?

Posted on Aug 5th, 2007 by dave : Good Vibes dave
Then by all means, check out this pod.

It is called 'Zaadz Portal' and is a great resource if you are wondering 'where to go from here'.

I love seeing these grassroots efforts going on, what a cool time we have here at Zaadz.  You guys have the power to shape this experience into anything you want it to be.  There is still a lot of 'building' to do.  How do you think you can best contribute to Zaadz?  Start a pod?  Post a regular blog?  Be a friend to someone?

Too fun. :)

What's been the biggest transition of your life?

Posted on Aug 10th, 2007 by dave : Good Vibes dave
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 10, 2007:

For me, it has been the past 3 1/2 years or so of my life.

Once I left highschool for college, I switched majors around, switched schools-- traveled to Boulder, and attended a semester at Naropa- and while all of that was filled with some increidble teachers, and great experiences- I was so intent on living life to the best it could be lived that I ran around looking at the huge variety in life-- trying to decide on something to focus on.  I wasn't about to settle on my limited experience I had in my home town-- or other peoples advice about what I should do with my life.

It wasn't long after my "sampler period", as I call it, that I ran into Brian (who was then running his thinkarete site, absorbing knowledge and teaching it, deciding how to use his talents to best honor himself, and give to the world- and we had a similar desire there- so I became a fan of his newsletters.  Not too long after that (fall of '04),  it was annouced that some "seeds were being planted", and Brian invited all of his thinkarete peeps over to the new Zaadz Message Boards.  I must have been one of the first to arrive, and had one of the most fun times of my life ditching work to talk philsophy with Brian and the people who had gathered, getting other people at my work to join the message boards on my lunch break (in the boring office i was working at, I was so excited to put them in a group of passionate people-- and they were very thankful!).

To make a long story very short, and very simple- 100 people turned into almost 100,000. :)  And somewhere inbetween, Brian hired me to be on the team. :)

I still remember when Brian called to hire me-- he is a very 'big' thinker, as in-- there are no limitations in his thinking as far as what he can have, or what he can do-- and just seeing him be him, as well as the crowd he had around him certainly ripped my world wide open.

Learning the ropes of good business, conscious capitolism, and democracy in the workplace would follow shortly.  So, as you can see-- thanks to you guys, and everyone involved in wanting, making, observing, or participating in Zaadz has created, without a doubt, the biggest transition in my life-- from dreaming, to doing. :)  Thanks everyone. :)

Do you think our culture is progressing or declining?

Posted on Aug 20th, 2007 by dave : Good Vibes dave
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 20, 2007:

“This world is not set up for failure and demise and decline. It’s set up for
improvement and expansion and better and better, and better. And so, it
must get better and better and better. And it is. We would just like all of
you to let yourselves in on more of it.” -Abraham-Hicks

That sums up how I feel. :)

15 Things to do on Zaadz

Posted on Aug 27th, 2007 by dave : Good Vibes dave

1.  Meet People!  With soon to be over 100,000 people on this site-- there is no reason to be lonely. ;)  You can search for people by interest, location, and more.  And once you find one person with interests you like, you can simply click the interest in their profile, and zaadz will generate a list of people with that interest!  How fun!  Don't forget to invite them to be your friend (via a link underneath their picture on their profile).

2.  Meet the Team.  We're passionate about serving you, and helping you be the change.  Be sure to subscribe to our blog so you can stay connected!  Leaving comments is a great way to express your feelings and thoughts!

3. Find conscious businesses in your area.  Do you have a conscious business of your own?  Please add it!  This is a great way to focus on the businesses doing good in the world.  Whether you are looking for the best vegetarian restaurants, or just want to know where to go to a yoga class in your area-- the zPages is the place to find it.

4.  Find events in your area.  Now that you have made a couple friends in your area, why not plan a weekend event?  Check out the Zaadz events section to find live events happening in your area.  Whether you are looking for a speaker, a movie screening, or a weekend seminar-- you will find some of the best ways to spend your time in the Zaadz events section.  You can also add your events to the list!

5. Start a book club.  Did you just read a book that changed your life, and are you looking for others with like minds to have an inspired conversation with?  Be sure to check out Zaadz books to connect with some of the kindest, smartest, and most interesting minds out there.

6.  Watch some videos.  Zaadzsters find some of the coolest videos out there.  Rainy day?  You will be glad to stay in and stimulate your brain with some of these mind expanding videos!

7.  Browse thru quotes.  The best of today's wisdom in bite size pieces.  Don't forget to add your own!

8.  Subscribe to some newsletters.  Make your mornings, and your inbox a happier place to be!  Also stay informed with newsletters like 'zaadz announcements' and Siona's 'Catalyzing Conscious Capitalism'.

9.  Start a Pod.  What better way to start a community than with a Pod?  A Pod is a discussion forum here at Zaadz.  If you aren't ready to start one, you can search for discussions that look interesting to you here.

10.  Check out what's new, what's hot, and what's green!  These pages will automatically generate a list of well, what’s new, hot and green (environmentally friendly).  The pages include blogs, pods, zaadzsters, videos, websites, books, and more!

11.  Help Zaadzsters!  Remember when you were still learning your way around the net?  Help Zaadzsters who are learning and need a hand.  We do our best, but the more help, the merrier.

12.  Question yourself, and reflect on your experience.  We call this 'questions and reflections'.  Each day it updates with a new question to ask yourself.  You can then view others responses, or add your own!  Some really fascinating stuff-- don't miss this one!

13.  Spread the seeds of love.  On this page you will find tons of ways to get your friends to join in on the fun here at Zaadz.  Spread the love!

14.  Zaangha.  What?  Check this out.  Our version of 'meet ups' for kindred spirits.

15.  Check out some photos!   Beautiful people, aren't they? :)
